What are the responsibilities and job description for the Medical Office Assistant position at Karns Vision Center?
Karns Vision Center | No Experience Necessary
We're growing at Karns Vision Center, and we're looking for someone great to join our team!
We're looking for an Optometric Technician who enjoys working with people, likes learning new things, and wants to be part of a team that genuinely enjoys working together.
At KVC, we want our patients to feel welcome, comfortable, and well cared for from the moment they walk through our doors. That starts with having the right people on our team.
We work hard, help each other out, and take pride in what we do. We're looking for someone who will bring a good attitude, a willingness to learn, and a genuine desire to help others.
What You'll Do
You'll work alongside our doctors and team to help make each patient's visit run smoothly. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
- Obtaining patient histories and documenting the reason for their visit
- Performing pre-testing and specialized diagnostic testing
- Reading and documenting patients' current eyewear
- Assisting our doctors with in-office procedures
- Learning to use, maintain, and calibrate ophthalmic equipment
- Helping keep patients moving smoothly throughout their appointments
- Making sure patients feel welcome and taken care of
You'll learn a lot along the way, and we'll provide training to help you become comfortable and confident in the role.
Who We're Looking For
Someone who:
- Enjoys working with people and is naturally friendly and helpful
- Has a positive attitude and treats others with kindness and respect
- Is dependable and takes responsibility for their work
- Notices what needs to be done and is willing to jump in and help
- Is comfortable using computers and learning new technology
- Can stay organized and keep up when things get busy
- Pays attention to details and takes pride in doing things well
- Works well with others and is willing to learn from the people around them
- Takes feedback well and wants to keep improving
We know that skills can be taught, and we don't expect you to know everything when you walk in the door. What matters is that you're willing to learn, care about doing a good job, and want to be someone your teammates can count on.
Do You Need Experience?
Not necessarily! Experience in a medical office or eye care setting is helpful, but it's certainly not required. If you have a background in customer service, retail, hospitality, or another job where you've worked with people, we'd love to hear from you, too.
We'll teach you the ins and outs of eye care, how to perform the testing, and how to use our equipment. We're looking for someone who brings kindness, common sense, initiative, and a good work ethic.
A Little About Us
We're proud of the team we've built at Karns Vision Center, and finding someone who fits well with that team is important to us.
We want people who enjoy coming to work, look out for one another, and care about the experience we provide our patients. We don't expect perfection, but we do value a good attitude, a willingness to learn, and people who take pride in what they do.
If you're looking for a job where you can learn new skills, work with a great group of people, and make a difference in the lives of others, we'd love to meet you!
If this sounds like you, we encourage you to apply. We look forward to hearing from you!
