Butcher/Counter Person

Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Counter Person to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing exceptional customer service while ensuring the efficient operation of our food service counter. This position is perfect for individuals with a passion for the food industry, particularly those with experience in meat cutting, or food production. The Counter Person will be responsible for maintaining high standards of food safety and hygiene while interacting with customers in a friendly and professional manner.

Responsibilities
- Greet customers warmly and provide assistance with their orders.
- Prepare and package food items according to established standards.
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including knives for meat cutting.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the counter area, ensuring compliance with food safety regulations.
- Assist in inventory management by monitoring stock levels and reporting shortages.
- Handle customer inquiries and resolve any issues promptly to ensure satisfaction.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth operations during peak hours.
- Follow all food handling procedures to maintain quality and safety standards.

Requirements
- Previous experience in the food industry or restaurant setting is preferred.
- Knowledge of food safety practices and regulations is essential.
- Experience with meat cutting or culinary skills is a plus.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Must be able to handle kitchen equipment safely, including knives.
- Flexibility to work various shifts as needed, including weekends and holidays.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
