Senior Architectural Interior Designer/Drafter
Kari Whitman Interiors is an upscale interior design-build firm known for its creativity and innovative design solutions in both the residential and commercial worlds. We're seeking an experienced Senior Architectural Interior Designer/Drafter to join our team that has strong skills in high-end commercial and/or residential design-builds, AutoCAD and expediting permitting processes.
As an Senior Architectural Interior Designer/Drafter, you will be engaged and managing all aspects of projects including permitting. A strong passion for design and enthusiasm for the creative process are crucial for success in this role. You should be highly proficient in AutoCAD and Google Drive, confident in your ability to create boards, drawings, and FF&E schedules, and comfortable acting as a liaison with vendors and subcontractors. You should also have experience with project management and in permitting.
This is NOT a remote position—We have a collaborative environment and work together in the office in Boulder, CO.
Duties of Senior Architectural Interior Designer/Drafter:
- Handling general architecture and design responsibilities like drafting in AutoCAD, creating boards, FFE’s, etc
- Expediting permits and working with the city
- Coordinating design, construction, timelines, and budgets for multiple projects
- Serving as a liaison to vendors & sub-contractors
- Some general office operations, including phones, filing, and running errands as needed
- Managing and having thorough knowledge of all items within client files like specifications, meeting notes, etc.
Requirements for Senior Architectural Interior Designer/Drafter:
- Degree in Architecture or Interior Design
- 5 years of experience in architectural design (we are unable to offer an entry level role at this time)
- Extremely strong AutoCAD skills (Non-negotiable; an in-depth AutoCAD assessment is required prior to an offer)
- Strong Excel/Google Sheets skills
- Design-build experience including permitting
- Self-driven work ethic with the ability to follow through on pending items, anticipate questions, and create solutions
- Strong organizational skills, including efficiency
- Discretion with confidential client and business information
- Must have own laptop and vehicle
- Willingness to travel locally, domestically and internationally
- Comfortable in a dog-friendly office
- Must be willing to work fully in-office (no remote work)
Compensation for Architectural Designer:
- $65,000-90,000/year to start depending on experience
- Regular opportunities for bonuses and raises dependent on performance
- Salary commensurate with experience (we are preferably looking for an architectural designer with 5 years experience)

- 10am-7pm
