About the Role:

We are currently seeking a Mechanic to join our team at our packaging facility in Rockaway, New Jersey.

The Maintenance Mechanic plays a critical role in ensuring the continuous and efficient operation of mechanical systems within our facilities. This position is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of pumps, conveyor systems, and other mechanical equipment to minimize downtime and maintain safety standards.

The ideal candidate will proactively identify potential mechanical issues and implement effective solutions to prevent operational disruptions. Working closely with the maintenance team, the Maintenance Mechanic will contribute to maintaining a safe and productive work environment by adhering to all safety protocols and company policies. Ultimately, this role supports the overall operational success by ensuring all mechanical systems function reliably and efficiently.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine inspections, maintenance, and repairs on pumps, conveyor systems, and other mechanical equipment.
  • Diagnose mechanical failures and implement corrective actions to restore equipment functionality promptly.
  • Work overtime as needed to address urgent maintenance issues and support production schedules.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, parts used, and equipment status to support operational planning.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience: 1–3 years of experience in a similar role.
  • Proven experience working with mechanical systems including pumps, boilers, and conveyor systems.
  • Ability to safely operate forklifts and climb ladders as required.
  • Familiarity with three-phase electrical systems and mechanical components such as gaskets.
  • Willingness and ability to work overtime when necessary.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Technical certification or vocational training in mechanical maintenance or related field.
  • Experience with preventive maintenance programs and troubleshooting complex mechanical systems.
  • Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices in industrial maintenance environments.
  • Experience working in a manufacturing or industrial facility.

Skills:

The required skills such as working with pumps and conveyor systems are essential for daily maintenance and repair tasks, ensuring equipment operates smoothly. Mechanical systems knowledge allows the mechanic to diagnose and resolve issues efficiently, minimizing downtime. Understanding three-phase electrical systems and gasket installation supports comprehensive mechanical troubleshooting and repair. Preferred skills like preventive maintenance and safety regulation knowledge enhance the mechanic’s ability to maintain a safe work environment and extend equipment lifespan.




The ideal candidate is comfortable working a rotating 12-hour shift schedule, consisting of three days one week and four days the following week. Flexibility to work the assigned rotation is required.

Salary : $25 - $27
