Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated, experienced and skilled Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing exceptional chairside assistance to dentists, ensuring a smooth and efficient workflow in the clinic. This role requires a strong understanding of dental terminology, procedures, and patient care protocols. The Dental Assistant will also play a vital role in maintaining infection control standards and managing medical documentation.
Responsibilities
- Assist dentists during various dental procedures, including general dentistry, endodontics, and prosthodontics.
- Prepare and sterilize instruments and equipment following aseptic techniques.
- Take and develop dental X-rays while adhering to safety protocols.
- Manage patient records using EMR systems such as Dentrix and Eaglesoft, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Provide chairside assistance during treatments, including four-handed dentistry techniques.
- Monitor vital signs and assist in medical imaging as needed.
- Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care.
- Support pediatric dentistry by creating a welcoming environment for young patients.
- Collaborate with the dental receptionist to schedule appointments and manage patient flow efficiently.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the dental clinic environment.
Requirements
- Previous experience as a Dental Assistant is preferred.
- Proficient knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and infection control practices.
- Experience with EMR systems such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft is highly desirable.
- Ability to perform medical documentation accurately and maintain organized medical records.
- Understanding of medical coding is advantageous but not required.
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with patients and team members.
- Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
