Teacher at Daycare / Preschool

Kare-A-Lot Preschool is a leading Childcare Center in Columbus Ohio. We have a close-knit group of teachers that enjoy a special connection with our children, parents, and each other.

Our facility is large, up-to-date and each classroom is a separate room. We're looking for a teacher who loves children and has a strong desire to make a difference every day. We are part of a larger network of schools that currently own and operate 7 centers and growing. We are currently offering a 25% discount on childcare tuition for FT employees.

Our teachers receive paid vacation (2 weeks) time, paid personal time, and paid holidays. We also offer group dental and vision and discounted life insurance, health insurance, and childcare.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement age-appropriate curriculum in literacy, math, physical education, and Montessori methods as applicable.
• Create lesson plans that encourage creativity, critical thinking, and active learning.
• Foster a positive classroom environment that promotes social interaction and appropriate behavior.
• Observe, assess, and document student progress to tailor instruction effectively.
• Support children with special needs or those requiring early intervention, collaborating with specialists as needed.
• Maintain structured classroom routines while ensuring safety and compliance with childcare regulations.
• Communicate regularly with parents regarding student development and address any concerns.
• Maintain accurate records, including lesson plans, progress reports, and incident documentation.
• Collaborate with colleagues and participate in professional development opportunities.
• Ensure adherence to all licensing requirements and child welfare standards.

Requirements:

• Experience working with preschool-aged children in a classroom or daycare setting.
• Knowledge of child development principles, behavior management, and early learning strategies.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to design engaging lessons aligned with developmental milestones.
• Experience supporting children with diverse learning needs is preferred.
• High school diploma required; certification or degree in Early Childhood Education or related field preferred (Montessori certification a plus).
• Negative TB test, successful background check, and valid driver’s license required.
