Karbon is seeking a Mid-Level, Fullstack Software Engineer. This is an exciting time to join the team because we are expanding our organization. In this role, you will be working within an agile development team to design and build interactive web applications. They are responsible for technical specifications and developing and deploying software. This role is focused on our API and Integrations team, with a lean towards Front-end.

Key Responsibilities

• Build and maintain product features -  Develop new functionality and iteratively improve existing systems, with a focus on reliability, performance, and user experience.
• Balance speed and quality -  Know when to move fast and when to slow down, making thoughtful trade-offs to deliver high-quality outcomes.
• Use data to inform decisions -  Learn from user behaviour, experiment thoughtfully including A/B testing where relevant, and help improve acquisition and conversion over time.
• Work effectively as part of a team -  Collaborate closely with engineers and QA throughout the development cycle to build, test, and improve features together
• Use AI tools thoughtfully -  Leverage AI to move faster for example drafting code, exploring solutions, or writing tests, while applying good judgement and always reviewing what ships.
• Work with autonomy -  Take ownership of problems, explore solutions, and ask questions when needed rather than waiting for predefined answers.
• Own your work -  Take pride in what you build and feel accountable for its impact on customers and the business.
• Bring your whole self - Contribute your curiosity, creativity, and personality to an open, and collaborative team culture.

Qualifications:

We know great engineers come from many backgrounds. You don’t need to tick every box below to apply.

• Solid frontend skills with experience using Javascript/Typescript and frameworks such as React.js, Angular.js, Vue.js, Ember.js or equivalent. Comfortable working across the full stack and building rich, interactive user interfaces.
• Strong fundamentals and hands-on experience building web applications using C#, .NET (MVC, Web API, .NET Core a plus) 
• Good understanding of RESTful APIs and how data flows through distributed systems, including designing and consuming web APIs.
• Familiarity with SQL Server or relational databases, and an understanding of how data flows through an application
• A growing understanding of software fundamentals like scalable systems, APIs, and basic data structures
• Familiarity with the Azure Cloud Platform is a plus.
• Curiosity and problem-solving skills- you enjoy figuring things out and learning as you go
• A sense of ownership and pride in your work, balanced with a willingness to ask questions and accept feedback
• An interest in building customer-facing software and thinking about how real people use what you build
• Comfortable working with others - sharing ideas, giving and receiving feedback, and learning together
• A degree in Computer Science (or similar), or equivalent practical experience

Balance Speed and Quality

Engineers are expected to balance delivery speed with a strong commitment to quality, meeting agreed timelines while producing reliable, maintainable, and well-tested solutions. Sound judgment in making trade-offs between velocity and long-term sustainability is essential.

Engineering is collaborative by default. Team members are expected to contribute constructively in design discussions, reviews, and planning, communicate clearly about progress and risks, and support shared team outcomes in both hybrid and distributed environments.

Build and Maintain Systems

Engineers are responsible for building new capabilities while maintaining and improving existing systems. This includes designing scalable solutions, reducing technical debt, supporting operational stability, and contributing to continuous improvement.

A high degree of autonomy is expected. Given clear objectives, engineers should independently translate problems into actionable technical approaches, proactively identify improvements, and continuously expand relevant technical expertise.

Ownership and Accountability

Ownership is fundamental. Engineers are accountable for the quality, performance, and customer impact of their work from design through post-release support, and are expected to follow through on commitments.
