- Safely operate shag trucks equipped with manual transmissions, refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, dump trucks, roll-off trucks, or tractor-trailers to transport freight across designated routes.
- Load and unload cargo efficiently using forklifts or other equipment when necessary, ensuring proper handling and securing of goods.
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections to verify vehicle safety, including checking brakes, lights, tires, and load securement.
- Follow planned routes diligently while adapting to traffic conditions and delivery schedules to meet deadlines.
- Maintain accurate documentation of deliveries, pickups, and route logs; report any issues or incidents immediately.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers to coordinate pickups and deliveries while providing excellent service.
- Adhere strictly to safety protocols, traffic laws, and company policies during all driving activities.
- Proven experience in truck driving with a focus on commercial driving environments.
- Proficiency in operating manual transmission vehicles with a strong understanding of vehicle controls.
- Experience driving refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, dump trucks, or roll-off trucks is highly desirable.
- Ability to load & unload freight safely using forklifts or manual methods when required.
- Knowledge of route driving techniques with excellent navigation skills.
- Strong understanding of safety regulations related to trucking and cargo handling.
