What are the responsibilities and job description for the Mechanic/ Parts Puller position at KAR Parts, LLC?
This position is a combination of automotive repair and dismantling vehicles for quality used parts. Every day is different, making this a great opportunity for someone who enjoys variety and solving mechanical challenges.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose and perform mechanical repairs on customer vehicles.
- Remove engines, transmissions, suspensions, body panels, and other automotive parts from salvage vehicles.
- Inspect and test parts for quality and resale.
- Safely operate shop equipment, forklifts, hoists, and power tools.
- Label, organize, and prepare parts for inventory.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Follow all safety procedures and company policies.
- Work as a team to meet daily production goals.
- Assist with other shop duties as needed.
Qualifications
- Previous automotive mechanic experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of automotive systems and vehicle components.
- Ability to safely use hand tools, power tools, and shop equipment.
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds or more and perform physically demanding work.
- Ability to work in various weather conditions.
- Valid driver's license required.
- Welding experience is a plus but not required.
- Forklift experience is a plus.
- Must be dependable, self-motivated, and have a positive attitude.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong attention to detail and good organizational skills.
