Position Overview:
The Floor Cutter is responsible for accurately measuring, marking, and cutting tarp materials according to specified dimensions, patterns, and production requirements. This role is critical to ensuring product quality, material efficiency, and smooth workflow throughout the manufacturing process.
Working in a fast-paced production environment, the Floor Cutter utilizes measuring tools, cutting equipment, and pattern layouts to prepare materials for assembly. Attention to detail, consistency, and adherence to safety standards are essential to success in this position.
The ideal candidate demonstrates strong spatial awareness, basic math skills, and the ability to read and interpret work orders, diagrams, and cutting specifications. This role requires physical stamina, as well as the ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Reads all corresponding paperwork for assigned job and asks necessary questions.
- Cut and assemble materials according to detailed specifications.
- Can measure and mark straight lines accurately using a ruler.
- Check math provided on all accounts.
- Direct organization of all pieces for jobs in the most efficient and clean manor according to production.
- Be able to produce a consistent quality work product.
- Ability to switch between job styles without error.
- Ensure all safety protocols are followed.
- Keep all pieces for jobs labeled and organized accordingly.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Efficient and timely completion of all work.
- Training of new employees.
- Perform minor maintenance on tools and equipment including:
- Maintaining proper charging of batteries needed for cutters,
- Maintaining proper stock of tools and equipment needed for to get the job done.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Can measure and mark straight lines accurately using a ruler.
- Be able to produce a consistent quality work product.
- Ability to switch to different style jobs without error.
- General knowledge and master-level ability to operate and tend to CNC operating machines.
- Ability to adjust the controls of a machine quickly and repeatedly to exact positions with control precision with the ability to work quickly and accurately.
- Strong ability to understand written and oral instruction.
- A willingness to manage one’s own time with the ability to work alone and as well as a team.
- Ability to be flexible enough to learn and grow with a fast-evolving company.
- Give full attention to what people are saying, take time to understand the points being made, ask questions as appropriate.
- Possess an eye for detail and an understanding that quality control is everyone’s job.
- Concentration skills to work for long periods on repetitive tasks.
- Ability of manual dexterity to quickly move your hand, your hand together with your arm, or your two hands to grasp, manipulate, or assemble objects weighing up to 40 pounds without assistance and the judgment to ask for help when necessary.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding and logic to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
Pay: $17.00 - $20.00 per hour
