What are the responsibilities and job description for the Associate position at Kaplan Advisory Partners LLC?
Associate Attorney – Real Estate & Corporate Transactions
Kaplan Advisory Partners is a busy and growing transactional law practice seeking an associate attorney to join our real estate and corporate practice.
This is a hands-on position for an attorney who wants meaningful responsibility, sophisticated transactional work, and direct involvement with clients. Our work includes commercial real estate acquisitions and dispositions, financing, leasing, development, joint ventures, entity formation, and other corporate and business transactions.
What We’re Looking For
Candidates must be licensed to practice law in Illinois. Experience in a real estate and/or corporate transactional practice at a law firm or in-house is preferred.
Commercial real estate experience is particularly valued. Candidates with experience should have a working understanding of commercial real estate closings and the various pieces that go into taking a transaction from contract through closing, including due diligence, title and survey, financing, organizational documents, closing documents, and coordination among clients, lenders, title companies, opposing counsel, and other transaction participants.
Two or more years of relevant transactional experience is preferred, but we are also willing to consider recent law school graduates and attorneys earlier in their careers who have a demonstrated interest in real estate and transactional work and are eager to learn.
The Opportunity
We are a growing practice with a collaborative, entrepreneurial culture and a strong emphasis on excellent work, responsiveness, practical advice, and long-term client relationships.
Our attorneys are not confined to one small piece of a transaction. The right candidate will have the opportunity to work on transactions from beginning to end, interact directly with clients, take on increasing responsibility, and develop their own practice over time.
This is an excellent opportunity for an attorney who wants sophisticated transactional work in a more personal, entrepreneurial environment than a traditional large-firm practice.
