What are the responsibilities and job description for the Special Education Paraprofessional position at Kapalama Elementary School?
Para professional tutor: working closely with our students in a classroom setting, outside during recess, events, and possibly lunch areas. Our Para professional tutors assists our teachers carry out our students goals and objectives in their Individual Educational or individual behavioral support plans. Our Para Professional Tutors usually work closely with our students and assists teachers with:
- providing a safe and healthy environment
- organizing and preparing student for work
- prompting students to stay on tasks or assists in taking breaks
- lessons and classwork
- supervising students during recess and lunch (if and when necessary)
- other tasks and duties that will support our students in and out of the classroom

Qualifications
- Strong classroom management skills
