Job Description: The Bookkeeper / Accountant is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, processing daily transactions, and preparing internal reports to support the Company’s accounting and operational needs. This role reports directly to the Controller and works closely with department heads, including Business Unit Managers, the VP of Operations, the Administrator, and the CEO, to ensure proper documentation and alignment with Company procedures.
This position plays a key role in executing the Company’s accounting functions with precision and timeliness, supporting audits, and maintaining internal consistency across all financial records. This position is Non-Exempt under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA); eligible for overtime compensation
Primary Responsibilities:
- Record daily financial transactions with accuracy and consistency
- Reconcile accounts payable and accounts receivable
- Prepare internal reports, financial statements, and supporting schedules as needed
- Track vendor invoices, credit memos, and payment histories
- Enter and match purchase orders, packing slips, and vendor bills
- Assist in monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closings
- Support the Controller with audits and special reporting requests
- Ensure financial documentation is complete, well-organized, and up to date
- Follow Company procedures and internal controls for data entry and recordkeeping
- Communicate with department heads to gather required documentation or clarify discrepancies
- Maintain confidentiality of all financial records and Company information
- Other duties as assigned by the Controller or Company leadership
Skills and Qualifications:
- 2 years of bookkeeping or accounting experience (manufacturing or service-based industry preferred)
- Knowledge of basic accounting principles and financial reporting
- Experience with QuickBooks, Microsoft Excel, and document management systems
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to follow procedures and meet deadlines
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
