The Role

The Shopper & Category Business Analyst is a hybrid role combining commercial strategy, execution, and analytics. Reporting directly to the Director of Sales Planning, this position plays a key role in shaping and delivering shopper marketing and retail programs.

This role goes beyond traditional analytics—requiring both strong data capabilities and hands-on execution. The individual will partner closely with Sales and Marketing to develop strategic programs, ensure strong execution, and measure performance to continuously improve outcomes. Success in this role requires strong communication across internal teams and external partners, including brokers and agency partners.

  • 30% Commercial Strategy Development (Shopper Marketing & Sales Programs)
  • 30% Program Execution & Performance Monitoring
  • 20% Category & Business Analytics
  • 20% Cross-Functional Collaboration & Commercial Enablement

This role is ideal for someone with 3 years of CPG experience who is looking to expand from analytics into broader commercial ownership within a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.


Key Responsibilities1. Commercial Strategy Development (30%)
  • Support the development of shopper marketing and sales programs under the direction of the Director of Sales Planning
  • Contribute to building customer-specific and channel strategies grounded in data and shopper insights
  • Partner with Sales and Marketing to align program objectives, pricing strategy, and promotional frameworks
  • Identify opportunities to drive growth through assortment, promotion, and in-store activation strategies


2. Program Execution & Monitoring (30%)
  • Coordinate execution of shopper marketing and retail programs across internal teams and external partners
  • Drive execution through strong communication and alignment with Sales teams, external brokers, and marketing agency partners
  • Serve as a central point of coordination to ensure all stakeholders are aligned on timelines, objectives, and deliverables
  • Manage timelines, materials, and communication for promotions, displays, and retailer-specific initiatives
  • Track program implementation and ensure consistency and quality at retail
  • Monitor performance in real time and proactively flag risks or opportunities for optimization


3. Category & Business Analytics (20%)
  • Analyze Circana/IRI/Nielsen data to evaluate sales, distribution, velocity, pricing, and promotional effectiveness
  • Assess category dynamics within frozen, including shelf constraints, SKU productivity, freezer economics, promotional depth, and ad frequency
  • Develop recurring performance scorecards and post-event analyses
  • Identify insights, risks, and opportunities and translate findings into clear, actionable recommendations


4. Cross-Functional Collaboration & Commercial Enablement (20%)
  • Act as a key connector between Sales, Marketing, leadership teams, and external partners (including brokers and agencies)
  • Share and reinforce commercial strategy, priorities, and objectives across departments to ensure alignment
  • Support development of customer presentations, sell-in materials, and business reviews
  • Identify opportunities to enhance business performance through better alignment, communication, and information sharing
  • Help ensure that insights and strategic priorities are clearly understood and consistently executed across teams
  • Contribute to building scalable tools, processes, and best practices as the organization grows


Qualifications & Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Analytics, Economics, or related field
  • 3 years of experience in CPG analytics, category management, sales analytics, or shopper marketing
  • Hands-on experience with Circana/IRI/Nielsen required
  • Strong proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint
  • Ability to balance analytical rigor with executional accountability
  • Strong communicator with experience working cross-functionally and with external partners
  • Self-starter with a proactive mindset and comfort in a fast-growing environment
  • Frozen or center-store experience is a plus

Hybrid: 4 days per week in-office / 1 day flexible


Compensation
  • Base Salary: $70,000 – $90,000
