Dance Instructor – Advanced Ballet & Tap
Kanvas Dance Company is seeking a dependable, experienced dance instructor to teach advanced-level classes with a strong foundation in ballet and tap.
We are looking for someone who can commit to teaching weekly, maintain a consistent schedule, and work with students who are ready for higher-level technical instruction. The ideal candidate has strong ballet and tap training, understands proper technique and progression, and can challenge dancers while maintaining a positive, professional classroom environment.
Responsibilities
- Teach weekly dance classes as scheduled
- Provide advanced-level instruction in ballet and tap
- Prepare structured, age-appropriate, skill-appropriate lesson plans
- Emphasize strong technique, musicality, discipline, and performance quality
- Maintain a professional, encouraging, and controlled classroom environment
- Communicate clearly with studio leadership regarding student progress, concerns, and class needs
- Prepare students for performances, recitals, or other studio events as needed
- Serve as a reliable and professional representative of Kanvas Dance Company
Qualifications
- Strong training and experience in ballet and tap
- Ability to teach advanced-level dancers
- Prior teaching experience preferred
- Reliable weekly availability and strong attendance commitment
- Ability to work well with students, parents, and other staff
- Professional, organized, and dependable
- Choreography experience preferred but not required

We need someone who understands that reliability matters — our students need an instructor who shows up every week and is invested in their growth.
