Our partner, a Southeastern Kansas FQHC, is seeking a compassionate Substance Abuse Counselor to provide quality, patient-centered care and help individuals access the resources they need on their recovery journey. This role uses integrated models of care and collaborates with a supportive team to strengthen and improve the lives of individuals and families in the communities they serve.

Qualifications and Licensing:

  • Bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology, marriage and family therapy or other closely related field
  • Active Kansas LAC, LMAC, LCAC, required
  • Dual licensed as LSCSW, LPC, LCPC, LMSW, preferred
  • Minimum of two years of supervised experience delivering substance abuse treatment
  • Detailed understanding of addiction counselor core competencies and treatment models
  • Complete 1-3 CE hours per license renewal period in Adolescent Addiction Treatment and/or Diagnosing

Our partner is an integrated health care center, offering a range of medical services including dental, behavioral health, pharmacy, walk-in care, addiction treatment and other areas. Additional services beyond healthcare include transportation, care coordination, help with insurance enrollment, and more.

They opened our doors in 1997 on the second floor of a 90-year-old elementary school building as a community outreach of Mt. Carmel Regional Medical Center, the hospital Mother Mary Bernard Sheridan, a Sister of St. Joseph, founded in 1903. Her mission was to bring healthcare to the poorest in our region and she did so by building a hospital on donated land and providing care for all.

Pay: $25.79 - $31.06 per hour
