What are the responsibilities and job description for the Phone Operator (part-time) position at Kansas Orthopaedic Center?
This position will ensure all calls to our facility are handled in an expedient, accurate and pleasant manner. This position is part-time, typically working 22 - 25 hours per week, and includes paid time off.
Position Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8 or 8:30am - 12:30 or 1pm
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
Answer and direct calls to the appropriate department and/or person; take messages electronically as needed.
Scan and file patient related information electronically
Sort and deliver all incoming and outgoing correspondence (including faxes)
Maintain list of employees who are out on attendance board, contact physicians and staff as directed, and contact hospitals and the Physician's Exchange with call schedule information and changes; communicate problems and act as a liaison to inform management and phone company of phone system problems and act as gate-keeper of the back entrance area.
Perform miscellaneous clerical tasks as necessary.
REQUIREMENTS:
1 year multi-line phone experience, health care environment preferred
Excellent customer service skills
Proficiency with Windows based applications
Ability to speak clearly and in an easily understood manner
Ability to actively listen and comprehend callers requests
