Coding & Billing Specialist (Full Time)
Location: Wichita, KS: West Office (Main Office)
Job Responsibilities:
· Provide assistance to providers with coding updates/changes.
· Assist with reimbursement analysis for facility as needed.
· Punctual attendance at all facility in-services, departmental meetings, and scheduled shifts.
· Maintains educational requirements for credentials by attending educational seminars which are beneficial to KOC, departmental, managerial, and facility staff meetings.
· Contributes to a positive work climate and the overall team effort of the organization.
· Personally adhere to the standards, rules, and procedures of the KOC Compliance and HIPAA.
Requirements:
· CPC (Certified Professional Coder) or CCS-P (Certified Coding Specialist, Physician based) or certification, or RHIT (Registered Health Information Technician) or RHIA (Registered Health Information Administrator) certification
· High school diploma or GED
· Two years outpatient coding experience, and outpatient surgical coding exp. Preferred.
· Two years insurance/billing experience
· Ability to prioritize, work independently, and communicate (orally and written) effectively.
· Interpersonal skills to interact with other staff and outside contacts.
· Proficiency with Windows based applications, including Microsoft Word and Excel
· Basic mathematical skills
Physical Demands:
· Ability to sit and work at a computer for extended periods of time throughout the day.
· Occasional phone use
· Occasional stooping, reaching, and bending
