Kansas Ink & Thread is seeking an experienced Embroidery Machine Operator to join our production team. This role is responsible for running commercial embroidery machines, hooping garments, maintaining quality standards, and supporting day-to-day shop operations. Candidates with previous embroidery, apparel decoration, or production experience are strongly encouraged to apply.
- Operate commercial embroidery machines (multi-head preferred)
- Hoop garments accurately and prepare items for embroidery
- Load embroidery designs, adjust thread colors, replace needles, fix thread breaks
- Perform quality control checks to ensure clean stitching and correct placement
- Maintain embroidery machines (oiling, cleaning, basic troubleshooting)
- Organize garments, track production status, and meet daily deadlines
- Assist with related shop tasks: folding, tagging, counting, packaging
- Prior experience as an Embroidery Machine Operator or in apparel production
- Ability to troubleshoot tension issues, thread breaks, and basic machine errors
- Strong attention to detail and consistent workflow
- Ability to lift apparel boxes and stand for extended periods
- Reliable attendance and ability to work independently in a small, fast-paced shop
- Basic computer skills for loading files and reviewing job sheets
- Experience with Barudan commercial embroidery machines
- Knowledge of garment types, embroidery stabilizers, and thread types
- Familiarity with screen printing or other apparel decoration methods
- Full-time, Monday through Friday
