Position Summary
We are seeking an energetic, dependable, and animal-loving Summer Critter Camp Assistant to help support our children’s summer camps at the shelter. This seasonal position assists with daily camp activities, camper supervision, animal interactions, crafts, games, educational lessons, and general camp operations to create a safe, fun, and engaging experience for children.

Key Responsibilities
- Assist with daily setup, cleanup, and organization of camp activities
- Supervise campers during games, crafts, educational activities, tours, and animal interactions
- Help lead age-appropriate activities focused on animal welfare, kindness, safety, and responsible pet ownership
- Support camp counselors and staff with behavior management and camper engagement
- Ensure a safe, welcoming, and inclusive environment for all campers
- Assist with snack and lunch monitoring as needed
- Help prepare camp materials, supplies, and activity stations
- Support shelter staff with light cleaning and organization related to camp spaces
- Serve as a positive ambassador for the shelter and its mission
- Follow all shelter safety and animal handling protocols

Qualifications
- Must be at least 16 years old (or adjust as needed)
- Experience working with children preferred
- Comfortable around animals, including dogs, cats, and small animals
- Friendly, patient, and enthusiastic personality
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Reliable transportation and dependable attendance
- Ability to stay active throughout the day, including standing, walking, lifting supplies, and participating in activities
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and occasionally noisy environment
Schedule & Duration
- Seasonal summer position
- Typical camp hours are Monday–Friday, daytime hours
- Flexible scheduling may be available
- Employment dates: June 2nd through July 31st
Bonus Skills (Preferred but Not Required)
- Interest in education, animal welfare, childcare, or recreation
- CPR/First Aid certification
- Previous camp, babysitting, tutoring, or volunteer experience
