- Compensation:**\$55,000 per year **Position Summary & Responsibilities**: Safety Specialist (Private Sector) The[Industrial Safety & Health division](https://www.dol.ks.gov/industrial-safety-health/overview)of the[Kansas Department of Labor](https://www.dol.ks.gov/home)is recruiting for a**Safety Specialist**to support organizations in maintaining safe and compliant work environments across a variety of industries. **Key Responsibilities:**
- Conduct OSHA consultation visits for private industry, including review of written safety programs and comprehensive walk-through inspections
- Evaluate workplace conditions related to machine guarding, electrical hazards, work practices, housekeeping, and overall safety compliance
- Prepare detailed written reports summarizing site visits, identifying hazards, and recommending methods for abatement and program improvement
- Provide guidance to enhance workplace safety and health programs and ensure regulatory compliance
- Perform follow-up activities to verify correction of identified hazards
- Provide or coordinate additional safety training as requested **Professional Development:**
- Attend training sessions, seminars, and conferences to maintain current knowledge of evolving technology and changes in safety regulations **Additional Duties:**
