Our agency is led by Secretary Janet Stanek, who was appointed by Gov. Kelly in Dec 2021. KDHE is comprised of three divisions: Public Health, Environment, and Health Care Finance (which includes the State's Medicaid program, KanCare). We are the only agency in the nation to have these three entities under one roof which allows us to take a holistic approach to improving and protecting the health and well-being of all Kansans.

Position Summary & Responsibilities
Position Summary:
Workforce Development Coordinator (
K
will work in both the public health infrastructure grant/workforce development grant team and the HR recruiting team. This position is a subject matter expert in the KDHE Recruitment Process during this transition assist.Training on the KDHE recruitment process will be completed in order to become backup to the recruiting process.Making sure recruiting team is updated on changes as they happen with in the recruiting process and implementing them in a timely manner. Reviewing the recruitment instruction documents/ job aids are updated for the recruiting team to use.

As a valued Workforce Development Grant team member and subject matter expert.Along with Recruitment team this position will assist the Recruiters on the Internship Program to make sure still successful with Internships within each bureau/ division to host Interns.Working with the Workforce Development work team, review and update on A1 Workforce Workplans and update.Assist with A2 Foundational Capabilities and A3 Data Modernization efforts if necessary.Work with the HR Coordinator and Program Evaluator to provide needed metrics for the grant's performance measures to include the Targeted Evaluation Plan.Working with the team, development workforce development plans to recruit and retain employees for the KDHE Workforce.

Review requests for hire of current state employees as needed on final offers. Assist Recruiters on the Special Requests or Final Offers to double check salary to be offered to applicants/ candidates.

Job Responsibilities may include but are not limited to the following:
Research and develop Leadership Development program.Coordinate and assist in the training program with the Staff Development Specialist as needed.

Working with the HR Recruitment Manager/ Workforce Director and HR Director/ Principal Investigator to develop a succession plan program for KDHE leadership.

Recruitment for Internships and Kansas Health and Environment Laboratories only.This will be removed from the position once we make the secondary movement in the restructure of the Recruitment Team Duties. Other Duties may include:

  • Managing the Position Description Library as part of the recruitment process by assuring current position descriptions are provided with each request to fill for vacancies.
  • Primary for Biweekly Position Changes in SHARP and verifying that MyOps was setup correctly.
  • Program Development, Implementation, and Enhancement:Responsible for managing programming of leadership development programs as related to outlined KDHE strategic plan regarding workforce development and other workforce related programming within KDHE.

Qualifications

  • Education:

  • High School, GED

  • Licensing & Certification:

  • Valid Driver's License - Incumbent is required to have and maintain a valid driver's license when operating a state vehicle, a private vehicle, or a rental vehicle for the benefit of the State.

  • Minimum Qualifications:

  • Four years of work experience in workforce planning and development along with recruitment/sourcing experience required.At least two of the four years to be from Human Resource/ Personnel Services with recruitment experience.

  • Preferred Qualifications:

  • 4 years experience in HR Human Resources, Business/ Public Admin, Communication, Organizational Development
