Provides instruction in the content area to students in the engineering and pathways to energy.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
Minimum Qualifications
This job requires that the employee be able to: sit, stand, walk, speak, hear, use hands, fingers, and reach with hands and fingers; bend, stoop, and lift objects of at least ten pounds.
Terms Of Employment
Length of work year: 10-month calendar (187 days)

Provides instruction in the content area to students in the engineering and pathways to energy.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Develop and execute lesson plans that lead toward student achievement of competencies in the area of expertise.
- Develop and update, as needed, the curriculum for the content program
- Prepare orders for the purchase of supplies, tools, equipment, and instructional materials necessary to support the learning activities of the program
- Maintain inventory and repair records, and ensure the safe and proper operation and maintenance of tools and equipment
- Maintain an Advisory Board and keep records of meeting notices, meeting agendas, and meeting minutes
- Remain informed of new trends, methods, materials, tools, and equipment in the content area
- Actively participate in all professional development activities as required by Kansas City Public Schools
- Integrate Career & Technical Student Organization (C.T.S.O.) leadership activities into the area of content
- Other job-related duties as assigned by the building leadership
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university and four thousand (4000) hours of department-approved, closely related occupational experience within the past ten (10) years, or
- 60 Credit Hours or an Associate’s degree from an accredited college or university and five thousand (5000) hours of department-approved, closely related occupational experience within the past ten (10) years;
- Valid certificates completed as applicable (CPR, culinary, business, safety, etc)
- Hold or be eligible for a Missouri Substitute certification
- Previous experience as a classroom teacher
- Teaching experience in an urban setting
- Hold or be eligible for a Missouri Career Education Certification in the content area
