Position Summary
Teaches one or more subjects to students in public secondary schools by performing the following duties.
What You'll Be Doing: (Responsibilities)
- Assist the Graduation Coach in the development of all areas of the program.
- Create opportunities for students to be successful within and outside of the traditional learning environment.
- Provide access to cutting-edge learning and educational options that allow students to earn and recover credits in a variety of ways.
- Assign and grade coursework with timely feedback.
- Develop, implement, and monitor individual plans of instruction based on assessment results and prepare students to demonstrate measurable progress toward mastery of the program.
- Facilitate conferences with students and other stakeholders to convey progress and/or address behavioral concerns.
- Maintains discipline in the classroom.
- Maintain student progress and attendance records in the student SIS system and for the Educational Innovation Office.
- Provide monthly reports to school administrators and central office.
- Establish a well-organized, attractive, and relaxed classroom atmosphere in a print rich environment.
- Participate in a variety of meetings, committees, workshops, and trainings as assigned for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of academic support and student success.
- Other duties as assigned.
To Be Successful at This Job, You'll Need To: (Qualifications)
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
- 3 years of successful teaching experience with middle to late adolescent children—working with at-risk children
- Any Missouri Teacher certification (1-6) or (7-12) in any subject at any grade level
- Desire to see students succeed and meet goals
- Ability to work as a team with other teachers and staff
- Experience working with student discipline, special education, behavior intervention
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to build rapport with students, school staff, families, community, and other stakeholders
