Summary
Entry Level. This position performs assignments of a general nature requiring use and application of standard manufacturing processes and project management practices.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Performs updates and/or maintenance to existing MES factory instructions including changes to and the addition or deletion of operations from the instructions as directed by the Process Engineers.
- Draft new MES routings using existing templates or released routings.
- Adheres to factory instruction standards as defined in Command Media.
- Reviews with other parties such as Production Control, Quality Engineering, Inspection, Product Engineering and Operations before final release to minimize subsequent changes. Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to work instructions.
- Review design definitions for consistency and administrative accuracy.
- Facilitates reviews by process and quality engineering.
- Perform procurements and provide schedule updates.
- Perform capital equipment inventory and need assessment required by accounting and others.
- Assist project managers/cost accounting managers with the preparation of paperwork and reports supporting cost management, generation of Cost Price Estimates (CPEs), risk assessments, and tracking against cost and schedule requirements.
- Update departmental JHAs.
- Review and revise related manufacturing, process or inspection documents.
- Add, revise and work with the Addendum Index as necessary or directed.
- Assist in training and documenting training for shop floor or inspection workforce.
- Work with Configuration Management to ensure drawing and specification change information is documented appropriately into factory instructions.
- Maintain ownership of tools to be used for creating or viewing factory instruction and factory instruction related aids, such as CD players, digital and video cameras, etc.
- Maintain and generate project files in the format and manner as required including IFMS, project tracking, quad charts. May generate and maintain project plans and assist in monitoring baseline changes.
- Helps maintain and assess quality documents and metrics including, Addendum Index (NX), DPMO, BOM, Non-Conformance Reports (NCR), Corrective Action Requests (CAR), Purchased Product Definition (PPD), Purchased Order Quality Requirements (POQR), Laboratory Test Requests (LTR), Pentagon S (/S/) requirement maps and any other required documentation.
- Assist Engineers with other work as required.
- Bachelor's degree is required OR in lieu of degree, at least two (2) years previous experience in general business operations, manufacturing or engineering related administrative activities such as configuration management, financial reporting, product testing procedures & data entry is required.
- Ability to travel as determined by the needs of the business.
- Ability to work remote, hybrid, or on-site as directed by management and is determined by the needs of the business.
- Regular and reliable attendance is an essential function of this job.
- United States Citizenship
- Ability to obtain and maintain, a U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) security clearance (some positions require additional DOE designations)
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong knowledge of or ability to learn KCP systems including MES, Matrix, Command Media, and others.
- Ability to interface effectively with internal customers.
