What are the responsibilities and job description for the Internship - Corporate Sponsorship (Partnership Activations) position at Kansas City Mavericks?
The Kansas City Mavericks are looking for a driven and enthusiastic intern to join our team during the 2026 - 2027 season. The ideal candidate will have a professional demeanor with the ability to communicate clearly with supervisors at all levels (both internally and externally) and take pride in all work completed. The individual needs to be detail-oriented, have the ability to multi-task, and meet demanding deadlines. Individual must also have the ability to work independently, take initiative, provide solutions, and make informed decisions. The Corporate Sponsorship Intern will focus on contract fulfillment and help with Corporate Sponsorship sales as needed.
Pre-game Tasks:
Pre-game Tasks:
- Assist with preparing and setting up sponsor activations and promotional items
- Organize sponsor signage, giveaways, coupons, and other activation materials
- Help coordinate sponsor needs and ensure all assets are ready before doors open
- Help prepare displays and promotional areas
- Assist with theme night and promotional event setup
- Complete pre-game activation checklists to ensure everything is in place and ready for an excellent fan experience
In-game Tasks:
- Assist with executing sponsor activations throughout the game
- Help coordinate on-ice and in-game promotions
- Distribute sponsor giveaways, promotional items, and prizes
- Assist with sponsor hospitality and ensure partners have what they need for a great experience
- Communicate with game presentation and operations staff as needed
Post-Game Tasks:
- Help take down any signage and activation materials on nights when tear down is needed
- Put away and organize materials so they are ready for the next game
- Make notes about what went well and anything that may need to be changed for the next game
- Help clean up and reset activation areas after the game
Office Tasks:
- Help keep track of sponsor activations and what has been completed
- Help organize sponsor materials, giveaways, and supplies
- Assist with getting materials ready for upcoming games and events
- Help come up with new ideas for sponsor activations and fan engagement
- Help put together sponsor recaps after games and events (DigiDeck)
- Update spreadsheets and other tracking documents
- Help with research for potential sponsors, promotions, and activation ideas
- Assist with other day-to-day tasks in the Partnership Activations department
Qualifications
- Current college student (undergraduate or graduate). Must be able to receive course credit.
- Interest in pursuing a career in professional sports and/or entertainment industry
- Interest in pursuing a career in corporate sponsorship sales and marketing
- Self-starter mentality and desire to take initiative, highly motivated
- Must be able to work all home games (nights, weekends, and holidays)
