What are the responsibilities and job description for the Chief Operating Officer position at Kansas City Live!?
Position Summary: The Chief Operating Officer leads the revenue generation efforts for our KC Live! district. Responsibilities include strategic planning; community and corporate partnerships; marketing; budget management; leasing; and tenant relations. With the support of Live! and the Cordish companies, the COO will develop and execute strategic plans, while ultimately strengthening operations and maximizing revenue.
- District AORS
- Develop and maintain tenant, media, and vendor relationships.
- Manage leasing process and third-party tenant relationships in retail, restaurant, and office space.
- Manage P&L District Marketing and PR, including budget planning and adherence
- Lead annual district budget planning and reporting process
- Direct leadership and oversite of assigned P&L District Team Members, including hiring, training and performance management
- District sponsorship fulfillment
- Oversee parking garage operations.
- Oversee facilities management and vendor relations.
- Oversee security management and vendor relations
- Leverage third party media relationships including print, radio, and television networks as needed.
- Live Concepts AORs
- Venue level marketing and promotions, including budget planning and adherence, in coordination with Live Hospitality Directors
- Live! venue sponsorship fulfillment.
- Participate in the planning, coordination, and execution of all district events, including concerts, festivals and special programs.
- Venue level communication and direction, in coordination with Live Hospitality Directors
- Venue budget planning and adherence.
- Venue level event planning and execution (e.g. Tinsel/Miracle/Happy Hour, etc), in coordination with Live Hospitality Directors
- Direct leadership and oversite of venue level leadership team members, including hiring, training and performance management
- Oversee venue security management and vendor relations.
- Support the ongoing maintenance of tenant, media and vendor relationships.
Required Qualifications:
- 10 years of diversified business leadership roles, particularly in a retail, real estate, media or hospitality setting.
- Proven track record of crafting and executing business strategies to grow revenue and improve profitability.
- The ideal candidate should be entrenched in the Kansas City market and have a keen ability to leverage partnerships to achieve the best possible outcomes for the business and the community (preferred)
