The Grief Programs Team Lead provides individual and family therapy to clients seeking counseling for grief, traumatic grief issues, and adjustment to serious illness. This position is responsible for duties which support the services of grief programming to include triaging cases to other team members, training, resolving billing issues, as well as providing assistance and support to the Director of Grief Programs. The Grief Programs Team Lead also has responsibility for leadership and management of their service area, ensuring excellence in service and quality of care.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Experience
- Master’s degree in Social Work or Professional Counseling, eligible for independent credentialing for billing and payment of services, required.
- Motivation to work with the dying and bereaved, required.
- Minimum two (2) years post Master’s professional experience in Social Work or Counseling required.
- Prior, relevant experience with grieving clients and current knowledge of grief theory and practice required.
- Ability to demonstrate clinical judgment and decision making based on knowledge of Social Work or Professional Counseling practices, techniques, and ethics.
- Ability to take a lead role as part of a team; prior experience managing and coordinating the work of others, preferred.
- Valid, unencumbered Social Work licensure in Kansas (LSCSW) and Missouri (LCSW) required, may be substituted with Professional Counseling licensure in Kansas (LPC/LCPC) and Missouri (LPC/LCPC).
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite required; working knowledge of Google Suite, preferred.
- Prior working knowledge of Electronic Medical Systems (EMRs) required; prior experience with Suncoast preferred.
