Primary Responsibilities
Instruction & Curriculum
- Plan and implement engaging, standards-aligned instruction appropriate to the assigned grade level or specialty.
- Deliver high-quality instruction in core content areas, utilizing research-based practices.
- Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners.
- Integrate Biblical truth intentionally throughout instruction and classroom culture.
- Foster curiosity, critical thinking, and a love of learning.
- Establish a structured, nurturing classroom environment grounded in Christ-centered values.
- Use positive behavior supports and developmentally appropriate expectations.
- Cultivate a classroom community where students feel known, valued, and encouraged.
- Use formative and summative assessments to monitor student progress.
- Analyze student data to inform instruction and support growth.
- Communicate effectively and consistently with families regarding student progress and classroom expectations.
- Collaborate with colleagues to strengthen curriculum alignment and student outcomes.
- Participate actively in professional development and schoolwide initiatives.
- Model the mission, vision, and core values of Kansas City Christian School.
- Support students’ spiritual development through prayer, Scripture, and Christlike modeling.
- Encourage social-emotional growth and healthy peer relationships.
- Identify and respond to individual learning needs in partnership with families and support staff.
- Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education or related field (required).
- Current state teaching license or ACSI certification (required).
- Experience teaching elementary students (preferred).
- Strong Christian faith and active participation in a local evangelical church; able to provide a reference.
