What You'll Do
As Associate Director for Human Resources and Operations, you'll play a key leadership role in agency human resources, employee relations, compliance, and administrative operations. Responsibilities include:
- Leading human resources operations, including payroll administration, personnel transactions, recruitment activities, and policy implementation.
- Serving as a primary resource to agency managers and staff regarding HR policies, procedures, and employee relations matters.
- Supporting performance management, workplace concerns, corrective action processes, and related documentation.
- Supervising the Administrative Support Team and overseeing day-to-day administrative operations.
- Coordinating workflow management, cross-training efforts, process improvements, and operational efficiencies.
- Supporting compliance, documentation, internal controls, and audit readiness across HR and administrative functions.
What We're Looking For
The ideal candidate brings strong human resources expertise, sound judgment, and a collaborative approach. You'll succeed in this role if you have:
- Experience supporting human resources functions, including recruitment, payroll, employee relations, personnel transactions, and related documentation.
- Knowledge of employment laws, regulations, policies, and procedures, with the ability to interpret and apply guidance consistently.
- Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- The ability to manage confidential information and exercise sound judgment in handling sensitive matters.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in human resources, public administration, business, or a related field.
- Experience in a public sector, governmental, or higher education environment.
- Familiarity with State of Kansas HR and payroll systems such as SHARP or similar platforms.
- Experience supporting employee relations, staff supervision, administrative operations, or workflow improvement initiatives.
Salary & Benefits
- Salary range: $65,000 – $69,000 (commensurate with experience)
