Job Summary
The Director of Finance will provide strategic and operational financial leadership for one or more business units within Golden State Foods. This role partners closely with operations, supply chain, commercial, and corporate finance teams to drive financial performance, support growth initiatives, and ensure strong financial governance.
The ideal candidate combines strategic thinking, operational finance expertise, and hands‑on leadership, with experience in manufacturing, foodservice, CPG, or complex distribution environments.

Director of Finance
Job Summary
The Director of Finance will provide strategic and operational financial leadership for one or more business units within Golden State Foods. This role partners closely with operations, supply chain, commercial, and corporate finance teams to drive financial performance, support growth initiatives, and ensure strong financial governance.
The ideal candidate combines strategic thinking, operational finance expertise, and hands‑on leadership, with experience in manufacturing, foodservice, CPG, or complex distribution environments.
What You'll Do
Financial Leadership & Strategy
- Serve as a strategic finance partner to senior operations and business leaders
- Lead annual budgeting, forecasting, and long‑range financial planning processes
- Provide insight and recommendations to support growth, margin improvement, and cost optimization initiatives
- Translate financial data into clear, actionable business insights for executive leadership
- Oversee monthly close processes, financial reporting, and variance analysis
- Drive accuracy and timeliness of P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow reporting
- Support operational decision‑making through cost analysis, productivity metrics, and ROI evaluations
- Partner with plant and supply chain leaders on cost control, capital investments, and efficiency programs
- Ensure compliance with GAAP, internal controls, and corporate financial policies
- Support internal and external audits
- Assess financial risks and implement mitigation strategies
- Maintain strong controls over inventory, costing, and capital expenditures
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high‑performing finance team
- Foster a collaborative, continuous‑improvement mindset
- Build strong cross‑functional relationships across operations, procurement, HR, and IT
Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field
- 8–12 years of progressive finance experience, including leadership roles
- Strong background in manufacturing, foodservice, CPG, or distribution
- Demonstrated expertise in budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis
- Experience partnering with operations and senior leadership
- Advanced Excel and financial modeling skills
- Strong communication and influence skills
- MBA or CPA/CMA
- Experience in multi‑site or matrixed organizations
- ERP experience (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or similar)
- Prior experience supporting capital projects or M&A integration
