Purpose of the Position:
Assemblers play a crucial role in creating high-quality products for our laundry systems that meet the needs of Kannegiesser's customers in industries such as healthcare and hospitality. This role offers a defined career path with four skill-based levels:
Level 1:
Experience: Entry-level; no prior assembly experience required. Training provided.
At this foundational level, Assemblers focus on essential components and introductory tasks, including but not limited to:
- Assembling wheels, sling cords, switch actuators, and trolley yokes.
- Gaining familiarity with tools, assembly processes, and quality standards.
- Assisting with basic troubleshooting and quality checks on completed parts.

Key Responsibilities:
General Responsibilities for All Levels:
- Follow Assembly Instructions: Accurately interpret blueprints, schematics, and work instructions to complete tasks efficiently and correctly.
- Quality Assurance: Perform visual and functional inspections of assembled components to ensure they meet strict quality standards before moving to the next stage of production.
- Maintain Workstation: Keep your work area clean, organized, and free of hazards to maintain safety and efficiency.
- Collaborate with Team Members: Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors to address challenges and share improvement ideas.
- Adhere to Safety Standards: Follow all company safety protocols, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE), to minimize risks and ensure a safe work environment.
- Continuous Improvement and Training: Actively participate in ongoing training programs to enhance skills and progress through the skill levels. Identify areas for process improvement and suggest solutions to enhance production efficiency and quality. Stay updated on new assembly techniques, tools, and technologies.
Level-Specific Responsibilities:
Level 1:
- Assemble foundational components such as wheels, sling cords, switch actuators, and trolley yokes with precision and consistency.
- Gain hands-on experience with tools and processes while adhering to quality and safety standards.
- Assist with basic troubleshooting of components during the assembly process.
- Maintain organized workstations and ensure tools and materials are properly stored.
Academic & Trade Qualifications (required & preferred):
- High school diploma or equivalent required; technical training or experience in manufacturing is a plus.
Work Experience & Skills (required & preferred):
General Requirements Across All Levels:
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills.
- Basic mechanical aptitude and familiarity with hand and power tools.
- Ability to read and interpret diagrams, blueprints, or technical instructions (training provided as needed).
- Commitment to adhering to safety standards and company policies.
Level 1:
Skills:
- Ability to follow detailed instructions and perform repetitive tasks accurately.
- Basic understanding of tools and mechanical concepts.
- Strong organizational skills to maintain a tidy and efficient workstation.
Machinery & Technology Experience & Skills:
- Microsoft Office Suite (including Outlook, Teams, Excel, etc.)
- Depending on level: beginner to advanced hand and power tool experience.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift, raise, lower, push or carry up to 50 lbs. from ground to waist, waist to overhead and from one surface to another at mid level.
- Remaining in a stationary position, often standing for prolonged periods.
- Ability to bend, crouch, kneel or crawl often in small or cramped spaces.
- Ability to work on equipment that is over individuals head and shoulders/at or below the shoulders while standing/sitting.
- Ability to walk/navigate/stand on both even and uneven surfaces.
- Physical dexterity to manipulate small parts including ability to grasp and pinch small objects.
- Ability to enter text or data into a computer or other machine by means of a traditional keyboard or 10-Key.
- Clarity of vision at approximately 20 inches or less (that is, working with small objects or reading small print), including use of computers.
- Clarity of depth perception both less than 20 inches and more than 20 inches.
- Ability to accurately determine color and distinguish between colors.
- The ability to hear, understand, and distinguish speech both in person, by telephone or other technology.
