    Position Summary:
    The Coordinator of Instructional Technology collaborates with school administrators and teachers to integrate technology into the curriculum, enhancing students' learning experience. This role involves conducting training sessions, assisting in curriculum development, and ensuring the effective use of educational technology.
    Essential Functions:
    • Collaborates with school administrators to assess, design, and implement instructional technology integration aligned with school plans.
    • Designs and delivers professional development workshops to increase staff proficiency in instructional technology.
    • Support teachers in creating technology-enriched lesson plans and curriculum materials.
    • Engages educators in coaching cycles that include co-planning, modeling, co-teaching, observation, and feedback.
    • Facilitate the selection, installation, and start-up of all educational technology systems and equipment.
    • Work with educators to define instructional objectives and devise long-term technology strategies to achieve them.
    • Model and teach demonstration lessons, transitioning class instruction to teachers' post-demonstration.
    • Collect and analyze instructional technology usage effectiveness data, offering feedback for improvement.
    • Training staff in current instructional technologies to meet pedagogical goals can be done during the day or after school/work hours.
    • Stay informed on emerging instructional technology trends and instructional methods.
    • Aid in the planning and execution of instructional technology-focused professional development initiatives.
    • Evaluate and communicate the instructional technology needs of assigned schools to relevant committees.
    • Familiarity with Google Suite, AI, Canva, Nearpod, and other instructional technologies.
    • Provides targeted support for specific platforms like STAR testing, IAR (Illinois Assessment of Readiness), and ECRISS
    • Leads the district in developing AI administrative procedures and guidelines in accordance with ISBE (Illinois State Board of Education) guidance.
    • Collaborates with the technology department regarding the management of SOPPA (Student Online Personal Protection Act) and DPA (Data Privacy Agreement) compliance
    • Supports accessibility tools and assistive technology for students with special needs and impairments
    • Maintains an inventory of materials and know their locations (such as Computer Science tools)
    • Plans, creates resources for, and oversees the implementation of digital citizenship for teachers and students
    • Contribute to the development of district-wide instructional technology programs that empower student learning.
    • Research and share best practices for instructional technology integration in educational settings.
    • Write or edit and create instructional technology videos for procedural steps for software and application use.
    • Other duties as assigned

    • Proven experience training teachers and staff and leading professional development.
    • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to effectively communicate and train technical information to non-technical users.
    • Customer-focused mindset with a passion for providing high-quality customer service and support.
    • Problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
    • Familiarity with Google Suite, AI, Canva, Nearpod, and other instructional technologies.
    Experience:
    • Five years of K-12 teaching or educational technology training experience
    • Proven experience training teachers and staff and leading professional development
    • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to effectively communicate and train technical information to non-technical users
    • Customer-focused mindset with a passion for providing high-quality customer service and support
    • Proven experience supporting district-wide assessment platforms such as STAR and IAR/ACT
    • Problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently or as part of a team
    • Familiarity with Google Suite, AI, Canva, Nearpod, and other instructional technologies.

    Education:
    • Master's Degree in Education (required)
    • Teaching certification (required)
    Physical Requirements:
    • Must be physically able to operate a motor vehicle
    • Must be able to exert up to 10 pounds of force occasionally, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to lift, carry, push, and pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body
    • Light work usually requires walking or standing to a significant degree
