Overview
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Machine Operator / Forklift Operator to join our warehouse team. This role is essential for ensuring efficient materials handling, order fulfillment, and safe operation of heavy equipment within a fast-paced distribution environment. The ideal candidate will have experience operating various types of warehouse equipment, including forklifts, cranes, and clamp trucks, along with a solid understanding of warehouse management systems and OSHA safety standards. Duties
- Operate forklifts, clamp trucks, pallet jacks, and other heavy equipment to load, unload, and move materials safely and efficiently
- Perform order picking using RF scanners and warehouse management systems to ensure accurate inventory processing
- Load and unload shipments in accordance with shipping & receiving protocols
- Assist with materials handling tasks such as stacking, organizing, and storage of goods within the warehouse
- Conduct routine inspections of equipment to ensure proper functioning and report any maintenance issues
- Follow OSHA safety guidelines at all times to maintain a safe working environment
- Support warehouse operations by participating in inventory counts and cycle counts as needed
- Collaborate with team members to meet daily operational goals in a timely manner
Experience
- Previous experience in warehouse distribution or shipping & receiving is highly preferred
- Hands-on experience operating heavy equipment such as forklifts, cranes, or clamp trucks is required
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) and RF scanners is advantageous
- Knowledge of OSHA safety standards related to heavy equipment operation and materials handling
- Mechanical aptitude or knowledge of heavy machinery maintenance is a plus
- Experience with order picker operations or construction-related equipment is beneficial
- Prior supervisory experience in warehouse settings or with materials handling teams is desirable
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently for extended periods during shift hours
