- Become proficient in navigating and programming the assigned DCS systems through on the job training and self-study.
- Learn the basics of the DCS hardware, including I/O modules, controllers, servers, and the control network.
- Learn the basics of the assigned unit chemical process through on the job training and self-study.
- Assist Process Control Engineer in drafting MOC's for DCS changes and building code and graphics on the DCS Simulator to test them.
- Propose modifications to DCS/Systems equipment that improve plant performance, safety, or reliability, and reduce costs.
- Monitor and address DCS alarms, update alarm surveys, propose fixes, and work with unit engineers to execute action items.
- Meet with DCS Manager weekly and issue progress reports biweekly.
