JOB DETAILS
The HSSE Compliance Superintendent position is responsible for compliance functions to improve coordination of site HSSE activities. This leader is expected to collaborate with the HSSE team, and KNA site leaders and employees in the development strategy, and implementation of world class procedures, policies, safe work practices and management systems which prevent illnesses and injuries, prevent asset loss, assure regulatory compliance and assist in the facilities in achieving plant and corporate HSSE goals. Major areas of responsibility include policy focused field safety audits, IH system assessment to specific work tasks/areas, contractor safety, management system support, behavioral based safety support and pursuing VPP achievement with assistance of the HSSE Manager.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Coordinating activities of the HSSE staff to ensure delivery of safety and compliance services.
- Provide leadership and consultative services to management in the development of rules, policies and procedures change management and roll out strategy, assisting management in the implementation of rules and procedures, providing accurate and timely data to management for use in decision making, and ensuring appropriate controls are in place to create sustainability and intuitiveness to customer.
- Coordinating the KNA safety activities and policies within those of contractors, and leadership and participation in site employee safety committees and teams devoted to specific safety issues.
- Develop the specific HSSE programs and site needs to optimize the performance of the site HSSE group in collaboration with site safety team, production and maintenance leaders.
- Activities include but are not limited to prioritizing the workload, communicating regularly with stakeholders, providing guidance and coaching, providing for training and professional development, and allowing themselves to address tasks outside their routine duties so they stay challenged.

Education
Bachelors of Occupational Safety (required)
Experience
Knowledge of relevant ANSI and NFPA standards (preferred)
10 - 12 years: Safety and/or Industrial Hygiene (IH) experience or combination of Process/Safety and IH experience (required)
