A well-established, multi-location heavy construction equipment dealer is looking to appoint a Parts Director to lead and develop its parts operation across a large regional footprint.
This is a senior leadership position with full responsibility for the commercial and operational performance of the parts business. You'll work closely with executive leadership to drive revenue, improve inventory performance, strengthen supplier relationships, and build a high-performing parts team capable of supporting continued growth.
This role would suit an experienced Parts Director or a seasoned Senior Parts Manager ready to step into a director-level position.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead all aspects of the parts business across multiple branches.
- Take ownership of inventory strategy, forecasting, purchasing, pricing, and stock availability.
- Develop, mentor, and support Parts Managers and branch teams, creating consistency across the business.
- Work closely with Service, Sales, and Executive Leadership to ensure the parts operation supports customer demand and business objectives.
- Build and strengthen relationships with OEMs and key suppliers to improve pricing, availability, and overall performance.
- Drive improvements in gross margin, inventory turns, fill rates, and operational efficiency.
- Oversee warranty administration, returns, core management, and supplier programmes.
- Implement and improve systems, reporting, KPIs, and processes to support future growth.
- Travel regularly between branch locations to support teams and maintain operational standards.
Requirements
- Proven leadership experience within the parts department of a heavy construction equipment dealership.
- Currently operating as a Parts Director, Regional Parts Manager, or an accomplished Senior Parts Manager looking for the next step.
- Strong understanding of inventory management, procurement, forecasting, vendor negotiations, and commercial performance.
- Experience leading multi-site teams across several branch locations.
- Ability to influence at both strategic and operational levels.
- Strong leadership, coaching, and people development skills.
- Comfortable using modern ERP, inventory management, and reporting systems.
- Willingness to travel as required.
