Overview
The host at Kandy's sets the stage for the entire evening. You will manage our reservation system, welcome guests with genuine hospitality and strategically coordinate seating.
Responsibilities
- Greet guests with a friendly smile and positive attitude, making them feel instantly welcomed
- Manage reservations and seating arrangements efficiently to optimize guest flow
- Answer phone inquiries with professionalism, providing accurate information and courteous assistance
- Coordinate with servers and kitchen staff to ensure smooth seating and service operations
- Maintain a clean, organized host stand and waiting area to uphold high standards of hospitality
- Assist guests with special requests or accommodations to enhance their experience
- Use POS system to manage reservations and guest check-ins when necessary
Skills
- Proven experience as a host or hostess in food service or restaurant environments
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to engage guests warmly and professionally
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, including phone etiquette
- Familiarity with POS systems preferred
- Knowledge of restaurant operations and guest relations best practices
- Ability to multitask
- Hospitality background or hotel experience is a plus, demonstrating adaptability across guest services roles
