Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Veterinary Technician to join our veterinary team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in animal care, veterinary procedures, and clinical support. Duties
- Assist veterinarians with clinical procedures, including animal restraint and catheterization
- Perform laboratory tests and handle diagnostic imaging such as X-ray procedures
- Monitor anesthesia and assist during surgical procedures with aseptic technique
- Provide pet care services including grooming, feeding, and administering medications
- Manage kennel duties, including cleaning and maintaining animal housing areas
- Handle animal husbandry tasks and ensure proper animal physiology care
- Support pet owners with education on pet care and post-treatment instructions
- Maintain accurate medical records and assist with laboratory sample collection and analysis
- Assist in pet grooming, dog training, and other behavioral support activities as needed
- Ensure safety protocols are followed during all animal handling and clinical procedures
Skills
- Proven veterinary technician experience with knowledge of veterinary terminology and animal anatomy
- Strong animal handling skills, including dog handling, restraint, and equine experience if applicable
- Familiarity with laboratory techniques, X-ray operation, and aseptic techniques
- Experience with pet grooming, dog training, and pet care best practices
- Knowledge of dental terminology and procedures related to veterinary dentistry
- Ability to perform animal catheterization and manage complex cases involving critical care or intensive treatment
- Excellent communication skills for client education and team collaboration
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail in all tasks
- Prior kennel experience, animal physiology knowledge, or veterinary critical care experience is highly desirable
