Responsibilities
- Operate the Point of Sale (POS) system to process customer transactions accurately and efficiently.
- Handle cash, credit, and debit transactions with precision while maintaining cash handling protocols.
- Provide exceptional customer service by greeting customers warmly and addressing their inquiries or concerns.
- Upsell products and promote special offers to enhance sales opportunities.
- Assist with stocking shelves and merchandising to maintain an organized store layout.
- Conduct product demonstrations as needed to engage customers and promote new items.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization at the checkout area and surrounding spaces.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth operations during busy periods.
- Supervise junior staff when required, providing guidance on best practices for customer interaction and transaction handling.
Experience
- Previous experience in retail sales or grocery store environments is preferred.
- Familiarity with cashiering duties, including cash handling and basic math skills for accurate transaction processing.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with customers from diverse backgrounds; bilingual candidates are encouraged to apply.
- Experience in merchandising, stocking, or product demos is a plus.
