Role Overview
The Business/Data Analyst III will work within the Data & Analytics stream focusing on financial datasets such as SAP, BPC, Budget & Expenses, Trust Funds, Travel, and Revenue/Expense data. The role involves requirements gathering, data analysis, reporting specifications, data lineage/mapping, and coordination with both business stakeholders and technical teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Capture data, reporting, and analytics requirements across various financial datasets (BPC, SAP, Budget/Expenses, Trust Fund, Travel, etc.).
- Analyze business processes within SAP modules (Capex, Trust Funds, Travel, Expenses, Budget) and SAP BW for ETL purposes.
- Conduct requirements-gathering sessions with business stakeholders for data warehousing and analytics initiatives.
- Perform detailed data analysis, profiling, and data lineage tracing from source systems to reporting repositories.
- Develop data mapping documents and support "to-be" data structure designs.
- Create comprehensive reporting specifications and collaborate with business users to clarify and finalize requirements.
- Provide guidance and direction to offshore development teams, translating functional requirements into technical solutions.
- Coordinate User Acceptance Testing (UAT) for data and reporting components.
- Support Program Managers in tracking deliverables using SDLC methodologies including Agile/Scrum.
- Work closely with technical teams to create SQL queries, data models, and warehouse schema designs.
- Proactively identify risks, resolve technical challenges, and maintain communication with stakeholders.
- Develop and maintain documentation, processes, and procedures for smooth handover to application support.
- Bachelor's degree with minimum 8 years of Business Analyst experience, including 4 years in SAP environments.
- Strong knowledge of SAP modules: Capex, Trust Funds, Travel, Expenses, Budgets, and SAP BW.
- High proficiency in SQL, data analysis, and reading/interpreting data models.
- Experience working with Operational Data Stores (ODS), Data Warehouses, Data Marts, and large Enterprise Reporting Systems.
- Hands-on experience with ETL, relational databases, transaction systems, and testing processes.
- Strong understanding of data management concepts: data quality, lineage, lifecycle, metadata, master/reference data.
- Domain knowledge in accounting and financial datasets is essential.
- Excellent analytical, logical reasoning, and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail.
- Experience with reporting tools (Power BI, SAP BO, Tableau) preferred but not mandatory.
- Familiarity with Agile tools such as Azure DevOps.
- Strong communication skills with experience interacting with both business and IT teams.
- Strong project/process management capabilities (requirements analysis documentation UAT delivery)
