Position Overview
We are hiring a Director of Operations to own and lead the execution of the business.
This role is responsible for day-to-day operations, field performance, team leadership, and margin protection while scaling the company from a strong multi-million-dollar foundation to the next level.
This is not a support role.
This is a senior leadership position with real authority, accountability, and upside.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Leadership
- Own daily operations including routing, staffing, field execution, and job quality.
- Resolve call-outs, field issues, and customer escalations with speed and professionalism.
- Ensure jobs are executed efficiently, safely, and to company standards.
- Remove owner dependency from day-to-day operations through systems and leadership.
Team Leadership & Accountability
- Hire, train, coach, and, when necessary, terminate field staff to uphold standards.
- Enforce professional conduct, uniforms, truck cleanliness, and jobsite expectations.
- Build and develop field leaders who can enforce standards independently.
- Address underperformance decisively while maintaining respect and clarity.
Sales Execution & Margin Protection
- Improve close rates from lead to closed job to cash collected without discounting.
- Ensure pricing discipline and prevent acceptance of unprofitable or poorly scoped jobs.
- Control labor hours, dump costs, fuel usage, and operational inefficiencies.
- Balance growth with profitability to protect long-term company health.
Systems, KPIs & Continuous Improvement
- Implement and enforce SOPs and operational checklists.
- Track and act on key performance indicators including close rate, revenue per truck, labor %, dump %, and net margin.
- Identify inefficiencies and execute improvements that scale with growth.
- Create repeatable systems that allow the business to grow without chaos.
Qualifications
- 5 years of operations or leadership experience in a service, construction, logistics, or blue-collar environment.
- Proven experience leading teams, enforcing standards, and making hard decisions.
- Strong understanding of KPIs, margins, and operational efficiency.
- Comfortable hiring, coaching, and firing to maintain a high-performance culture.
- Ability to operate calmly and decisively in fast-paced, high-pressure environments.
- Experience in junk removal, waste, construction, restoration, or home services is a plus, but not required.

- Close rates improve toward 40–45% without margin erosion.
