About Kana’i’s Rolloff – Junk Removal & Dumpster Rental

Kana’i’s Rolloff is a fast-growing, locally owned junk removal and dumpster rental company serving Oahu. We specialize in high-volume residential and commercial cleanouts, roll-off dumpster services, and waste solutions that prioritize speed, professionalism, and operational excellence.

We are building more than a service business — we are building a high-performance operation where standards matter, leaders lead, and execution wins. Our next phase of growth requires disciplined operations, strong leadership, and a company-first mindset.

Position Overview

We are hiring a Director of Operations to own and lead the execution of the business.

This role is responsible for day-to-day operations, field performance, team leadership, and margin protection while scaling the company from a strong multi-million-dollar foundation to the next level.

This is not a support role.

This is a senior leadership position with real authority, accountability, and upside.

Key Responsibilities

Operational Leadership

  • Own daily operations including routing, staffing, field execution, and job quality.
  • Resolve call-outs, field issues, and customer escalations with speed and professionalism.
  • Ensure jobs are executed efficiently, safely, and to company standards.
  • Remove owner dependency from day-to-day operations through systems and leadership.

Team Leadership & Accountability

  • Hire, train, coach, and, when necessary, terminate field staff to uphold standards.
  • Enforce professional conduct, uniforms, truck cleanliness, and jobsite expectations.
  • Build and develop field leaders who can enforce standards independently.
  • Address underperformance decisively while maintaining respect and clarity.

Sales Execution & Margin Protection

  • Improve close rates from lead to closed job to cash collected without discounting.
  • Ensure pricing discipline and prevent acceptance of unprofitable or poorly scoped jobs.
  • Control labor hours, dump costs, fuel usage, and operational inefficiencies.
  • Balance growth with profitability to protect long-term company health.

Systems, KPIs & Continuous Improvement

  • Implement and enforce SOPs and operational checklists.
  • Track and act on key performance indicators including close rate, revenue per truck, labor %, dump %, and net margin.
  • Identify inefficiencies and execute improvements that scale with growth.
  • Create repeatable systems that allow the business to grow without chaos.

Qualifications

  • 5 years of operations or leadership experience in a service, construction, logistics, or blue-collar environment.
  • Proven experience leading teams, enforcing standards, and making hard decisions.
  • Strong understanding of KPIs, margins, and operational efficiency.
  • Comfortable hiring, coaching, and firing to maintain a high-performance culture.
  • Ability to operate calmly and decisively in fast-paced, high-pressure environments.
  • Experience in junk removal, waste, construction, restoration, or home services is a plus, but not required.

What Success Looks Like

  • Close rates improve toward 40–45% without margin erosion.
  • Operational standards are consistently enforced, even on busy days.
  • Owner is no longer involved in daily operations.
  • Dump costs, labor hours, and inefficiencies are controlled.
  • Teams are accountable, professional, and aligned with company expectations.
  • The business scales profitably with systems, not heroics.

Why Join Kana’i’s Rolloff?

  • Opportunity to lead and scale a real, operating business with strong demand.
  • Competitive base salary with performance-based upside tied to measurable results.
  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance with company contribution.
  • Paid time off and paid holidays earned through operational independence.
  • Short-term disability coverage and relocation assistance available.
  • Company-paid leadership and operations training.
  • Clear growth path with increased responsibility and upside as the company scales.
  • A company culture that values discipline, accountability, and winning the right way.
