Duties
- Take dogs on engaging walks, ensuring proper exercise and mental stimulation tailored to each pet’s needs
- Provide in-home pet sitting services, including feeding, administering medications, and maintaining routines
- Handle animals safely using proper restraint techniques and animal handling skills
- Monitor pet behavior closely to identify signs of stress or illness and communicate observations to owners.
- Maintain clear communication with clients regarding pet activities, health updates, and any concerns during visits
- Support overnight in-home care visits to ensure pets are comfortable and secure during extended stays
Qualifications
- Prior experience with dog training, animal handling, or pet care is highly desirable
- Knowledge of veterinary procedures or veterinary technician/assistant experience is a plus
- Strong understanding of animal behavior and effective dog handling techniques
- Excellent customer service skills to foster positive relationships with pet owner
- Valid driver’s license, must be comfortable working independently in various outdoor settings
