What are the responsibilities and job description for the Shipping & Receiving Coordinator position at Kammerer Dynamics, Inc.?
Shipping & Receiving Coordinator
Company: Kammerer Dynamics Inc. (KDi)
Location: Kendallville, IN 46755 (In-person)
Pay: Competitive, based on experience
At KDi, the fabrication process doesn't end when the part is welded—it ends when the shipment is loaded and verified, leaving zero room for errors. We need a Shipping & Receiving Lead who acts as the ultimate quality gatekeeper. If you are the type of person who double-checks everything, takes pride in a perfectly documented load, and isn't afraid to jump into the driver’s seat or onto a forklift to get a truck out on time, you are the missing piece of our logistics puzzle.
The Mission
- Accuracy is Everything: Own the entire shipping process, from creating accurate shipping tickets to verifying every single part against the paperwork. We don't ship "mostly correct"—we ship 100% correct.
- The Documentation Trail: Act as the final quality control layer. You will document every load with detailed photos and organized paperwork, ensuring our clients receive exactly what they ordered, exactly as it left our floor.
- Hands-On Logistics: You won’t just be behind a desk. You’ll be on the floor, in the yard, and assisting in prepping trucks. We need someone ready to jump into the action, and occasionally get behind the wheel to move freight when the shop demands it.
- Yard & Warehouse Command: Keep our materials and finished goods organized. You will manage the flow of incoming steel and ensure our staging area is a model of efficiency.
- Solve the Problem: When logistics get tight or a load needs to move now, you don’t just watch the clock—you Work the Problem to ensure our production schedule remains uninterrupted.
Qualifications
- Operational Detail: Proven experience in shipping/receiving where documentation and accuracy were mandatory. You are comfortable creating tickets, managing inventory, and maintaining a digital paper trail.
- The "Driver" Mindset: You are a self-starter. You understand that when a truck pulls in, you are the boss of that load.
- Heavy Equipment & Transport: Experience operating forklifts and staging heavy structural steel is required. A valid driver’s license (CDL is a plus) is required, as you must be ready to jump behind the wheel to keep our logistics fluid.
- Tech-Savvy: You know your way around computer systems to manage inventory and shipping documentation (Google Sheets/digital systems).
- Ownership: You take responsibility for every item that leaves our building. If it has the KDi stamp on it, you make sure it's handled, documented, and loaded right.
