Special Project Assistant - Groundskeeper / General Laborer

Principal Duties and Responsibilities: 

• Categorize a wide arrangement of existing parts.
• Operate construction vehicles, tending machinery and heavy equipment.
• Use power tools, building and taking down scaffolding and temporary structures.
• Haul goods from the receiving area.
• Maintain a clean work environment. Cleaning and preparing construction sites.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Comply with all Company policies and procedures to achieve KaMin Vision.
• Visibly support the Site Safety Policy by complying with safety rules, policies, and procedures with the intent to maintain a safe working environment for all employees.
• May have other accountabilities not listed above.
• Operate a zero-turn mower to maintain lawns, grassed areas, and facility grounds.
• Perform trimming, edging, and vegetation control using string trimmers (weed eaters) and related landscaping equipment.
• Operate backpack and handheld blowers to remove debris from sidewalks, parking lots, roadways, and facility entrances.
• Maintain the appearance and cleanliness of facility grounds, landscaping beds, fence lines, and drainage areas.
• Conduct routine inspections of grounds maintenance equipment and perform minor troubleshooting and basic preventative maintenance.
• Assist with seasonal groundskeeping activities, including leaf removal, storm cleanup, and general property upkeep.
• Identify and report grounds, equipment, or safety issues requiring repair or corrective action.
• Support facility improvement, construction, and maintenance projects during periods of reduced landscaping demand.
• Safely operate groundskeeping equipment and tools in accordance with company safety policies and procedures.

Competencies: 

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver's license with good driving record.
• Stamina and strength to perfume manual labor.
• Excellent hand- eye coordination skill
• Proficient in the use and application of PCs, and related office applications.
• Experience operating commercial landscaping equipment, including zero-turn mowers, string trimmers, and blowers preferred.
• Basic mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to work outdoors in varied weather conditions.
• Ability to multi-task.
• Ability to work under pressure within a deadline-oriented environment.
• Occasional travel (Corporate, Gordon, Macon, McIntyre, Sandersville, and Wrens, GA plants)

Working Conditions:    

• Works 90% of time round the plant and mine site environment. Subject to both internal and external environmental conditions.
• Must be able to climb, stand, and walk long distances.
• Must be able to use fingers and make substantial movements (repetitive motion) with wrists, hands, and fingers.
• Required to operate general office equipment.
• Regular exposure to outdoor weather conditions including heat, cold, humidity, rain, dust, and uneven terrain.
• Frequent bending, kneeling, lifting, carrying, and prolonged periods of standing and walking.
• Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds on a regular basis.
