Production Manager

JOB FUNCTION:

Responsible for functions within new model planning, launch, and development

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

· Review all aspects of tooling, parts, process, and support new part development (QOP09-03)

· Will direct, manage and support new model group within production (Production Engineering group)

· Support new model trials within KNA

· Review previous model failures, including quality, delivery, tooling, line flow, and scrap and develop corrective actions to eliminate reoccurring issues (QOP14-01)

· Must be willing to travel supporting new model activities, line and product development, and output

· Coordinate tool trials, support assembly trials as needed

· Research and incorporate new technology

· Make recommendations for tooling and equipment improvements (NMOP02-07)

· Attend new model meetings, customer events, and material suppliers as needed

KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS:

· Reduce cycle times

· Reduce New Model scrap

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Coaching and counseling of associates

· Communicates with customers, vendors, suppliers and subcontractors when necessary

· Attends departmental and interdepartmental meetings

· Attends training classes and will assist in the training of other associates

· Will present related information in meetings and weekly staff meetings

· Other activities as directed

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

4-year degree in engineering or related field or minimum of 10 years experience in a manufacturing/engineering environment

QUALIFICATIONS:

· Good verbal, written, and oral communication skills

· Competent decision-making ability and follow-through on concepts

· Satisfactory work record, including attendance

· Willingness to work overtime during the week and weekends when necessary

· Proficient in computer skills including Microsoft Office products

· Travel on short notice

PHYSICAL DEMANDS OF POSITION:

· Ability to stand, climb ladder onto machines, bending and stooping

· Mental alertness to procedures/changes

· Ability to work overtime during the week and weekends when needed
