What are the responsibilities and job description for the Shipping and Receiving Clerk position at KAMAN PRECISION PRODUCT?

Responsibilities:
Work under general direction of supervision to assist with the planning assignment, follow-up and work with individuals performing a variety of duties to include:
- clerical administrative requirements, coordinate the shipment of outgoing domestic and international shipments, receipt of incoming material parts, equipment, material handling , packaging for Mil-Spec / special customer required packaging, shipment/packaging of hazardous material .
- Works from Department of Transportation regulations (DOT), International Air Transportation Association (IATA), American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) , Automated Commercial Environment US Customs (ACE), U.S. Government Military Specifications, and various other packaging and shipping standards.
- Also works with Requests to Ship, Receivers, Packing Slips, International Customs Documents, Bills of Lading, etc., oral instructions, moving, transferring, delivery and /or distribution or parts, assemblies, small machinery, equipment, supplies, materials, etc.
- Assures that all Domestic and International orders are correctly documented / packaged, identified with proper customer and US and Foreign Government regulations.
- Maintains adequate supply of all material for shipping and packaging supplies (Hazardous material packaging, special International containers).
- Provides forklift truck service as requested. Contacts freight carriers as necessary or required, assures that all related documentation is completed daily.
- Refers unusually difficult problems to supervisor.
- Maintains quality and production standards as directed. Follows standard practices and procedures as determined.
- Follows all safety regulations.
- Maintains area in clean and orderly condition.
Must possess a valid driver’s license and must be able to drive company vehicles.
Qualifications:
- Use of mathematics together with the use of drawings, specifications, charts, tables; various types of precision measuring instruments, NC equipment and personal computer to input data involving advanced skills knowledge.
- Hazardous Material Certification PT49 CFR preferred
- Equivalent to 1 to 3 years applied training in a particular or specialized occupation
- Moderate physical effort occasionally lifting or moving average weight material
