Job Responsibilities
Aircraft Ground Operations
- Ensure all baggage, cargo, and mail are loaded and unloaded to the aircraft safely and in a timely manner.
- Properly ensure that cargo is properly distributed within the aircraft to ensure balance for safety during takeoff and landing.
- Direct the aircraft to the gate and ensure proper parking using marshalling signals.
Safety and Security
- Adhere to airline and airport safety procedures during all operations.
- Perform routine inspections on ground equipment to ensure a safe operation.
- Follow security protocols related to restricted areas and ensure no unauthorized access to aircraft or cargo.
Operational Efficiency
- Contribute to the timely departure and arrival of flights by managing ground operations within tight timeframes.
- Work cohesively with other ramp agents and airport staff to ensure seamless operations.
- Coordinate effectively with the flight crew, ground control and other team members to ensure smooth operations.
- Quickly identify and address any issues that may delay flight schedules and operations.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Physical Duties and Requirements
- Ability to lift and carry up to 75 pounds.
- Must be able to bend, stoop, crouch, stand and lift above head.
- Must be able to adhere to process protocol.
- Must be able to apply established protocols in a timely manner.
- Must possess a valid driver's license.
Preferred Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent related experience.
- Able to obtain an Airport Motor Vehicle Operating Permit.
- Able to obtain certification to operate forklift vehicles for the purpose of loading and unloading freight.
