English Language Arts Teacher (Grades 6–12) – Kamaile Academy PCS

Kamaile Academy PCS is hiring an English teacher for middle and high school students (grades 6–12). We are looking for an experienced, student-focused educator who can foster literacy, critical thinking, and communication skills. This role includes classroom teaching, mentoring, and participation in school-wide programs to support student success.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver lessons that meet English Language Arts standards and course objectives.
- Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners.
- Maintain an engaging, inclusive, and well-managed classroom environment.
- Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and support staff to improve student achievement.
- Prepare instructional materials with clear objectives, formative assessments, and evaluation strategies.
- Track student progress and communicate with families regularly.
- Participate in faculty meetings, collaborative planning, and professional development.
- Implement accommodations for students with Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) or support plans.
- Monitor student well-being and address academic, behavioral, or safety concerns.
- Contribute to school initiatives that enhance student engagement and learning outcomes.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in English, Education, Humanities, or Social Sciences.
- Minimum 3 years teaching experience at middle or high school level.
- Strong classroom management skills and ability to engage students.
- Experience with diverse instructional strategies and assessment methods.
- Knowledge of adolescent development and inclusive teaching practices.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Comfortable using technology in teaching and learning.
- Commitment to professional growth and reliable attendance.
Preferred Qualifications
- Current teaching certification (State of Hawaii licensure is a plus).
- Completion of a state-approved teacher preparation program.
- Meets applicable subject-area requirements and relevant certifications or testing credentials.
