About Us: Kalyani Eye Care is looking for an energetic, detail-oriented Ophthalmic Patient Care Technician in Hanover, MD (Arundel Mills). This full-time position is available immediately with benefits (including health, dental and pharmacy insurance; vacation and holiday pay).
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree preferred, but not required
- High School Diploma required
- 1 year experince working in ophthalmology/optometry HIGHLY preferred
- COA preferred, but not required (training provided)
- EMR experience preferred, but not required
Job responsibilities
- Providing excellent patient care and customer service
- Interacting with all patients using the level of respect and professionalism required by the practice
- Obtaining comprehensive patient histories
- Assisting with and performing tasks specific to physician’s needs
- Performing accurate and consistent documentation of hands-on measurement tasks, with provided training
- Maintaining smooth flow of patients from check-in to check-out
- Assisting in administrative tasks (answering patient calls, mailings, chart scans, scheduling appointments, etc.)
- Maintaining inventory and stock in exam rooms and general office supplies
Essential Skills and Qualifications
- Empathetic personality with concern for patients’ needs
- Demonstration of strong customer service skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated computer literacy with knowledge of Electronic Medical Records and Electronic Practice Management software
- Ability to work as a team player
- Strong organizational skills with great attention to detail
- Proficient with Microsoft Windows, Excel and Word
- Articulate with professional demeanor and appearance
- Motivated, upbeat personality with ability to handle high pressure situations
- Ability to work efficiently with strong time management skills
We offer excellent hours (no weekends or evenings), health and dental insurance; plus 401k. Eligible candidates must have reliable transportation and ability to work Monday-Friday from 7:45am - 4:30pm.
